Austin Gary David Burtis of Calgary passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 2, 2019, at the age of 20.
Austin was a wonderful very smart young man who dearly loved his family, his friends and his career. He loved traveling to various places including Mexico; and had recently been there with his beloved mom, Darcie. He enjoyed spending time outdoors with his friends, often in the mountains, while hiking and exploring new adventures. His passing will leave a huge hole in the hearts of all who love him.
Austin is survived by his mother Darcie Smith; his father Troy Burtis; step-mom Karen Nedeau; grandmothers Bonnie Smith and Karen Burtis; brother Andon; step-brothers Ron and Warren; step-sister Natalie and brother-in-law Courtland; as well as 5 nephews and nieces, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his grandfathers John Smith and Ron Burtis.
A Celebration of Austin's Life will be held at Acadia Recreation Complex (240-90th Avenue SE) on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 6:00 pm.
