Obituary for Richard William Douglas
In loving memory of Richard William Douglas, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at the age of 62.
Rick leaves behind his doting wife, MaryAnn (Praxidio) of 19 years. A proud father to daughters, Amber and Nevaeh, and to his sons, Austin and Finley. A loving brother to his five sisters, Pat, Kathy (Dan), Bev, Helen (Stuart), and Debbie (Elliot) and brother, Tom (Diane). Rick was also an uncle to many nieces and nephews who affectionately calls him “Boo Boo.”
Family was very important to him. He loved being a part of family gatherings and going camping with his nieces and nephews.
Rick’s passion includes travels, sports and the great outdoors. He enjoyed listening to rock and roll music and The Blues. He also loved dogs. He had a quick and witty sense of humor. He spent many years working as a Caregiver and was very kind and compassionate to those who were under his care.
The family would like to thank all the people involved in Rick's care, Dr. J. Doherty; Dr. C. Card; the Home Care team; and Rena and the many angels at Chinook Hospice.
At Rick's request, no funeral service will be held. In leiu of flowers, donations may in Rick’s memory to Canadian Cancer Society.
