Daisy Pledge (nee Rogers) beloved wife of Lyle, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019. Daisy was born in Athabasca, Alberta and raised on a small mixed farm north of Meanook, Alberta. She went to school from grade 1-6 in a one room schoolhouse in Meanook, then moved to Athabasca school where she completed her schooling. Her first career was hair dressing followed by bookkeeping, office administration at two schools and assisting Lyle in running their various businesses.
Daisy loved animals and made pets of many of them on her family farm. She enjoyed reading, baking, doing needlework, RV camping, hiking, and entertaining family and friends. She loved her family and always looked forward to family gatherings. Her warmth, kindness, generosity and grace was felt by all who knew her.
Daisy was predeceased by her parents, John and Elsie Rogers; brother, Roderick Rogers; daughter-in-law, Susan Pledge and grandchildren, Matthew and Analise Pledge. She is survived by Lyle, her loving husband of 53 years; son, Spencer (Gwen); daughter, Melanie (Leigh) Busch; grandchildren, Carley (Evan) Rauer, Joshua (Rochelle) Busch, Simon Busch, Chelsea (Matthew) Campbell, Courtney Wichert and great-grandchildren, Ewyn and Georgiana Campbell and her beloved Cocker Spaniel, Molly.
Donations in Daisy’s memory may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society and Samaritan’s Purse.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 2:00 pm at First Alliance Church, 12345 - 40 Street S.E., Calgary, AB T2Z 4E6.
