Obituary for Donna Lynn Nemrava (Lansing)

Donna Nemrava 1953 - 2019

Donna Lynn Nemrava (nee Lansing), of Calgary, died peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Centre on May 6, 2019 after a long and brave battle of medical complications following surgery.

Donna is survived by her husband Jim, and her children Kevin (and daughter-in-law Linda) and Kimberly, her sister Barbara Lansing and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her father Wilfred (aka Pinky), mother Louise Lansing of Turner Valley and her niece Michelle Rishaug.

Donna was born in Turner Valley on February 26, 1953, were she grew up and graduated from Turner Valley High School. She enjoyed telling stories of a High School trip to Europe with her classmates and friends. Donna subsequently moved to Calgary and while working as a teller in the Royal Bank met Jim, her future husband. They married January 18, 1974. Her children will always remember her as a intelligent, creative, compassionate and hard working mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

Donna was a highly accomplished local watercolor artist, taking after her own mother’s love of painting. She opened her own art studio (Art Escape) where she was able to teach and share her talents. She will be lovingly remembered by many friends and neighbours in the community.

At Donna’s request, no service will be held. Donations may be sent to Friends of Fish Creek to celebrate her love of nature and the park (https://.friendsoffishcreek.org/ffc-donate/).

We would like to thank the staff at the PLC for their encouragement and friendship during her long stay.
