It is with heavy hearts that we announce Dodie passed away peacefully on Friday 1, 2020.

Dodie was predeceased by her husband Russell (Happy). She is survived by her children Jim (Annette), Perry, Candy, Dawn, Rusty (Sharon) and Doug. Her grandchildren Bobby, Russell, Christy, Danny, Justin, Wyatt and Sawyer; As well as her Step Son Ronnie Burell, and his children Stacy, Shaun, Erin, Ashely and Cody.

Dodie will lovingly be remembered as a woman of great integrity, love, kindness, compassion, courage, her fabulous laugh and her love of the Lord. She was young at heart and clear of mind. She kept up on current affairs, politics and technology.

Dodie spent many years working at Northlands Park with our entire family whom all have a life long love for the horse racing industry.

We would like to say a special thank you to all of Mom’s Christian gang for many years of friendship, fellowship and many shenanigans.

Though she was small, she was mighty.

My sincere condolences to the Burrell family. I have many memories of Dodie as I have known her for many years. She was a fun loving happy person who loved life and loved her family. Dodie planned many birthday “surprises “then would adamantly denies she had anything to do with it, and you could be sure she would have some nice little gift, and some not so nice. She also love Jesus and the word of God. She was a prayer warrior and loved to pray. She was the life of the party at our many gatherings and our “gang” will not be the same without her. She will be forever loved and missed. I know she is rejoicing and having a ball with Jesus, Ray and Happy and all those that have gone on before her.

I got to know your precious mom almost 40 years ago when we lived in Greenwood Village. I have fond memories of her beautiful personality and how fondly she spoke of each one her children and grand children. When I met Dodie again in December 2018, she had not changed a bit. She enjoyed gathering with her friends and singing meaningful songs celebrating the Christmas story.
My heart and prayers go out to each of you, especially this Mother's Day weekend. ....
Dodie treasured her independence.
She graduated. Straight into the arms of Jesus.
Discovering her new role, in the Cloud of Witnesses.
Rejoicing singing new beautiful tunes that she did not know before.
She was ready.... so ready
Looking forward to embrace each of you
when it is your turn to cross the finish line.

Jim and Annette, and the Burrell family,

Sorry to hear of the loss of your sweet mother. We enjoyed our visits with her the last few times we travelled to Calgary. The love and pride she had for her children and their families was evident -- a beautiful legacy for her beautiful life.

May she rest in peace,
Paolina Mastronardi & family
