It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Heidi Bundschoks on Tuesday, May 21,2019 at 53 years of age.

Heidi will be lovingly and forever remembered by her parents, Heinz and Anne Bundschoks; sister, Audrey (Steve) Bingham and her beloved nephew, Braxton as well as extended family and dear friends.

Heidi was raised in Water Valley and enjoyed country living. Her horses were her love and passion.

She began her teaching career at U of A, then decided to teach abroad for numerous years including in China, Korea, and Mexico.

Heidi returned home and got her Masters Degree in TESL from U of C. She taught at both Columbia College and Oxford Seminars. She especially loved to teach students to line dance and participate in Calgary Stampede festivities.

At Heidi's request, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Heidi’s memory to The Heart and Stroke Foundation. (#200, 119 14 St NW, Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6).

My condolences to Heidi's family. Heidi was my Oxford instructor and she encouraged me to volunteer at Columbia College where she then took on the role as my mentor, encouraging me and putting me "on the spot," her laugh was infectious. Great learning opportunities!... she was amazing to watch in the classroom. I agree with Nancy, her lessons were incredibly thought out and detailed. Heidi enriched the lives of those she met including mine.

Our condolences to Heinz, Ann, Audrey and family. I remember her kindly from school, piano lessons and the Water Valley 4-H club! It was nice to catch up and visit with her a few times in recent years.

When I met Heidi in the teachers' room at Columbia College after my first day of working there, we bonded instantly. That first day, she stayed later than usual as we first exchanged teaching ideas and then stories of Korea, where we had both worked. Some of her stories were outright hilarious, and I still laugh when I think about them. I am laughing right now about one in particular :)
Heidi was an incredibly talented teacher and she had a special talent for finding really great resources. Her lessons were works of art - incredibly thought out, staged, and detailed. She was my go to for ideas when I needed inspiration, and her students were lucky to have had such a skilled teacher. Heidi enriched a lot of people's lives, mine included.

Heidi was a neighbour of mine growing up in Water Valley. We were on the same school bus and rode horses together in Boots & Saddle Club. She was brilliant, funny & so very smart. I have great memories of Heidi. My respectful, sincere condolences to her sister, mom & dad and extended family.

So sorry to hear about Heidi's passing, I had many great hours hanging out with Heidi and Audrey as a child. It was through Heidi that I first got my love of horses, we spent many hours riding the horses around the farm. My condolences to Anne, Heinz, Audrey and family. Laurie Campbell (nee Catudal)
